How to Measure the Space for a Made-to-Measure Sink

Measurements for a made-to-measure sink should be based on the space actually available in the cabinet—not on an assumption or solely on the external dimensions of the previous sink.

Measure the usable space

Measure the internal width and depth of the opening in millimetres. Repeat the measurement at more than one point if the cabinet or worktop does not appear to be completely regular.

Check what takes up space

• Pipes and connections.
• Cabinet reinforcements.
• Fittings, drawers or other nearby elements.
• The space needed for the installer to work.

Record and confirm

Keep the measurements clearly recorded, always indicating which is the width and which is the depth. If the opening does not match a catalogue size or any questions arise, ask for advice before buying to confirm that the configuration is viable.

Separate three measurements

The sink's overall dimensions, usable bowl dimensions and worktop cut-out are not interchangeable. Read the labelled dimensions on the product drawing; do not infer an internal size by subtracting an assumed thickness. With several bowls or zones, check which part each dimension describes.

Prepare for the installer review

1. Record the available width, depth and height in millimetres and label what you measured.
2. Include a sketch showing tap, waste connection, supports and drawers.
3. Compare the chosen model's drawing with the cabinet and worktop.
4. Check the configurator limits if you need custom dimensions.

Online size limits do not replace installation checks. If a dimension is outside those limits or a necessary measurement is missing, request a review before ordering. Do not select the nearest size automatically: it may change the fit or working space.
